Steven Gerrard's leadership skills on the pitch were
well known, but the latest instalment in a special Standard Chartered video
series puts the spotlight on his inspirational influence away from football.
To celebrate Liverpool FC’s 125th anniversary
year, the club’s main sponsor is taking supporters on a season-long journey
exploring significant numbers in Reds history.
The No.8 – worn with such distinction by
Gerrard during his time at Anfield – was the first to feature, focusing on the
role and responsibilities of a skipper.
And now, in a follow-up video, we learn how
the former midfielder’s character and values extend beyond the game to the
local community and the people he meets.
In it, Rob Fearns of the Charlie’s Chance
Foundation catches up with Gerrard to explain first-hand how the Liverpool icon
made a life-changing difference to his family and inspired him to do the same
for others.
