One with Nature

So this is like an annually, sometimes monthly or sometimes weekly (depends on our schedule, and $$ ofcourse) activity for my boys back in Sarawak. Not so special, just some monkeys spending some nights in the hutan.  I'll just share with you guys with one of my trip from Miri to Long Bedian. It took 5-6 hours of driving, yes an hour or two of driving on the road, proper road, tar road, next 3 to 4 hours off road. It is situated in the Apoh Tutoh, region of the Baram district, Miri division. The majority here is Kayan with a mix of Kelabit, Kenyah, Morek, Penan and other smaller tribes.

Old is gold

Asal on the way kalau dalam hutan, everyone in the car mesti buka mata besar. Why? Wild boar, musang, biawak, python (the short one, we call it "Ripung") anything edible. Parang is a must have in anyone's car here. Just in case, ada yang volunteer jadi makanan.

Hello little friend, musang. Just few more minutes arriving to our camp site, and yay extra food for dinner! (Dont worry our little guy here ran off)
Well we didn't do much here, arrived at the camp site around 2000, the other boys who came earlier than us have already started the bbq (the meat they got from their morning hunt). We took all our belongings, some supplies out from the car. Hehe supplies. Went to check the pukat in the river they fix in the evening, to add more food for the dinner. No electricity, no signal, nothing. What we do here if we're bored, pergi hunting, check pukat ambil ikan, kacau kawan tidur, etc. I dont have to list them all we can go all day,  you know what boys do when they're with their species.

Recipe? Tambah air sungai, masak, tunggu, dan makan.

Noon time next day. Only fish for lunch, before we start exploring the hutan
We started to explore the area after lunch. There are 7 waterfalls in the vicinity of the area, namely Nyang Fall, Dancing Fall, Sang Fall, Hornbill Fall, Ba-o Fall, Ipul Fall and Nawan Fall. We get to see only 3 or 4, not sure which one.

Smoke break. Snack break. Semput break.

Another smoke break.
Another another smoke break

On the way pulai. Til next time. Seh seh seh! Haus haus haus!
